TOWN OF BLADENSBURG
COUNCIL MEETING
May 8, 2006 7:00 p.m.

I. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor James called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with Council Members Ficklin, George, Mendoza and Watson present.

II. OPENING PRAYER: Mrs. Holloway gave the opening prayer.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Council Member Mendoza led the Pledge of Allegiance.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Council Member Ficklin moved to approve the April Council Meeting minutes as presented. Council Member Mendoza seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

V. MAYOR & COUNCIL REPORTS: Mayor and Council gave updates on the previous month events and activities they were involved in.

VI. STAFF REPORTS: Staff gave updates of the previous months Departmental Activities. Complete reports are available at the Town Office.

VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Patriotic Committee Budget: Council Member Watson moved to move the Patriotic Committee Budget out of the Recreation Council Budget into its own line item for $1500. Council Member Mendoza seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Ordinance 3-2006: Second Reading and Vote: to Amend 76-4: Business License and Permit Fees: Following the Second Reading by the Town Clerk, Council Member George moved to adopt Ordinance 3-2006; Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

VIII. NEW BUSINESS:

Ordinance 4-2006: First Reading: FY07 Budget and Tax Rate: The Town Clerk performed the First Reading of Ordinance 4-2006.

IX. PUBLIC COMMENT:

The Mayor entertained comments from the audience.

X. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, at 9:00 p.m. Council Member Mendoza moved to adjourn; Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
