TOWN OF BLADENSBURG
WORKSESSION
July 5, 2006

I. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor James called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with Council Members George, Mendoza and Watson present. Council Member Ficklin arrived momentarily.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Council Member Mendoza moved to approve the June Worksession minutes as presented. Council Member George seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

III. SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT: Project representative Larry Taub gave an update on approval delays based on County Police and other safety personnel staffing. He also brought owners of 5103 Annapolis Road whose owners are interested in using part of the property for retail space. A meeting will be scheduled at a later date.

IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Project List: The project list was reviewed an updated. A copy of the Charter, Code and Personnel manual will be brought to worksessions.

Confidentiality Statement: The Town Attorney made requested revisions to the draft document. It was suggested that a confidentiality statement be incorporated into the personnel policy with signed receipts by all staff.

Procurement Policy: This ordinance will be discussed at the September Worksession.

V. NEW BUSINESS:

There was no new business.

VI. CLARIFICATION OF STAFF REPORTS: Individual report questions were addressed.

VII. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements were made about upcoming events and meetings attended.

VIII. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further public business, at 8:00 p.m., Council Member Ficklin moved to go into closed session for personnel issues. Council Member George seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
