Location/Directions:
From Washington D.C., take New York Avenue East. Turn North on Bladensburg Road. Pass Peace Cross on left. You are now on MD Route 450. Take 1st right into Bladensburg Waterfront Park. There is a sign at the entrance.

From Maryland, from the Beltway, take exit 23 which is Kenilworth Avenue South towards Bladensburg. Go five miles. After traffic light for Upshur Street intersection, go right on exit ramp to MD Route 450 (Annapolis Road). Go left at end of exit ramp onto Route 450 West. Park Entrance is 2 short blocks on the left.

From Virginia, take Kenilworth Avenue North. Take the exit ramp on right to MD Route 450 West. Turn right at stop light onto MD Route 450 West. Park entrance is 2 short blocks on the left.

This freestanding recreation facility includes a gymnasium, crafts room, meeting room, pre-school room, game room, and fitness room. Outdoor facilities include a basketball court and play equipment. Recreation programs and classes in the areas of sports, arts, fitness, dance, crafts, cooking, self-improvement, computers, drama, games, hobbies, martial arts, music, and do-it-yourself instruction are among the activities offered here. The center also hosts tournaments, clubs, camps, special events, workshops, drop-in programs, after-school programs, and cultural activities at different times. Pre-schoolers, children, teens, adults, and senior citizens will find a variety of recreation opportunities available at the center. From the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, take Route 450 (Annapolis Road) West. Exit toward Bladensburg. At the first traffic light (57th Avenue), make a right. Proceed about one mile. The center is located on the left.

Location/Directions: Located in Cheverly, Maryland, one quarter mile off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway at the intersection of Landover and Annapolis Roads (Routes 202 and 450).

From the Capital Beltway (I-495), take Exit 22B (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) south. Proceed 3 miles south to Route 202 (Cheverly exit). At the traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 202 (Landover Road). Proceed 1/4 mile to the Playhouse on the left.

From Washington, D.C., Virginia and points south, take New York Avenue to I-295 North, to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Proceed to Route 202 (Cheverly exit). At the traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 202 (Landover Road). Proceed 1/4 mile to the Playhouse on the left.


Community Parks

Facilities at community parks vary from site to site, and include combinations of sports courts, picnic areas sitting areas, and play equipment.

  • Tot Lot 52nd Street Park 3900 block of 52nd Street: This location includes a young tot play area with swings,  climbing equipment suitable for young to adolescent sized children.


  • Town Hall Park 4229 Edmonston Road:
    This location includes a young tot play area with swings,  climbing equipment suitable for young to adolescent sized children, an expansive area for use for kick-ball, and other team sports as well as a community walking path.

  • Rosaina Baldi – Decatur Park 5300 Block of Varnum Place:
    This location includes a young tot play area with swings,  climbing equipment suitable for young to adolescent sized children as well as benches for siting.


  • Picnic area south bound Alt. Route 1 (4100 Block): This location includes a picnic area as well as is connected to a walking path that leads to the Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
