TOWN OF BLADENSBURG
COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 10, 2006

I. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor James called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with Council Members Ficklin, George, and Watson present. Council Member Mendoza was excused.

II. OPENING PRAYER: The prayer was given.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge was recited.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Council Member Ficklin moved to approve the March Council Meeting minutes as presented. Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

V. BLADENSBURG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UPDATE: Ms. Reese, Reading Coordinator, updated the Mayor and Council on school activities.

VI. PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE: Marion Hoffman gave a committee update.

VII. MAYOR & COUNCIL REPORTS: Mayor and Council gave updates on the previous months activities and events they were involved in.

VIII. STAFF REPORTS: Staff gave updates of Departmental activities. Copies of complete reports are available at the Town Office.

IX. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Resolution 2-2006: Supporting National League of Cities Inclusive Communities Program: Council Member Ficklin moved to approve the Resolution as presented; Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Ordinance 2-2006: Repeal of alarm Monitoring Ordinance: Chapter 77: Council Member George moved to approve the Ordinance as presented; Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Ordinance 3-2006: First Reading: to Amend 76-4: Fees: Town Attorney LaPlaca gave the First Reading of the Ordinance as presented and amended.

X. NEW BUSINESS: There was no new business.

XI. PUBLIC COMMENT: The Mayor entertained comments from the audience.

XII. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Council Member George moved to adjourn the meeting; Council Member Watson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
